6th Grade Soda Can Design

Our next project is the soda can design. You can look at last semesters 6th grade soda can drawings to the right of this page. I had them use a template for the shape of the soda can to help make correct proportions of a can. If you have a can that you can trace to start the drawing such as an Arizona ice tea or coke can, that will help.

Steps:

1. Draw your can and brainstorm your ideas as a rough draft.

2. Once you have come up with your idea trace your soda can drawing onto your final paper and complete this as your final drawing. Putting your paper on a window works great for tracing.

3. Use what ever drawing utensils you have at home such as pencils, pens, sharpie, colored pencil and markers to finish your soda can design.

I understand with out the art room for supplies you will be limited. Use what you have for now and do the best you can. Most importantly, HAVE FUN!

When you are finished, write your full name at the bottom right of your picture. Take a picture of it and email it to me at kirkedahlm@bagdadschools.org. This is due March 30th at 8:00 a.m. If you have any questions about this assignment please send me an email and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
