4th and 5th Grade

For this week I would like you to do a drawing of a memorable experience you had over spring break. This can be visiting a family member or a friend out of town. What did you do that was fun? Or if you stayed home over spring break, what was the favorite thing you did? Do you have a pet you were able to spend time with? Any activity you found interesting, draw a picture of what you did. At the bottom of the picture write a sentence or a few words that describes the fun activity you drew.

Art supplies may be tricky to get a hold of in that we are not in the art room. My suggestion for starters is find any paper you have to do this drawing. You can use pencils to start your drawing then use crayons, colored pencils or markers if you have any in the house.

When you are finished with your drawing, take a picture of it and email it to me at kirkedahlm@bagdadschools.org by the end of next week. Please write your NAME and TEACHER on your drawing so I can figure out which class you belong to on my roster.

Have Fun!

If you have any questions send me an email and I will get back with you as soon as I can.

4th and 5th Grade Hot Air Baloons

The drawing I would like you to do this week is a still life. A still life is a picture of an object or several objects that are arranged next to each other and drawn from observation. This will be a fun drawing for you because you can choose an object from your house to draw.

I would like you to choose one object and do a pencil drawing of the object. You might be wondering what kind of object. Anything that you would like to draw that is easy to place on a counter top in front of you. An example can be a hot wheel car, favorite old toy, some object that is special to you that has dark and light shades on it.

Most of you have done pencil drawings from photographs such as our transportation (Car) and reptile drawings in my class. We started with a simple line drawing to get the basic shape of your object. Remember the term "value"? It is using your pencil to shade all the different lights and dark's that you see. Also, the term "observation" is used by carefully looking at the object and draw what you see rather than what you think you see.

Use any paper and pencils that you have around the house. When you have finished with your drawing, take a picture of it with your NAME and TEACHER on it so I can figure out what class you belong to on my roster.

Email it to me at kirkedahlm@bagdadschools.org

If you have any questions about this assignment send me an email and I will get back to you as quick as I can.
